Hi Tami!
What kind of foods are you speaking of that you want to cook or bake??????
You want to stay away from the processed foods that are already prepared in the stores.
Let me know what you'd like to make..

Tami

When I took on changing my diet I never saw it as a huge burden. Just something to have fun with. So almost anything goes. I don’t know what your intolerance's are so here are a couple of general ideas that I hope will whet your creative juices.

Lots of food can be steamed. If you Google “steamed food recipes” you will find lots of sights on how to steam fish, meat and vegetables. It’s pretty bland but their are many dipping sauces that make it some of the most delightful food I have ever eaten. I find it a very easy way to avoid processed food. And at the same time delectably delicious.

I found an organic four pound pork shoulder roast for three dollars this morning . Brought it home and cooked it in my pressure cooker with lots of onions. Skimmed of the fat and made a sauce out of the drippings.

A pressure cooker is another piece of equipment but makes some of the most delectable food I have ever eaten. Google “pressure cooker recipes” for more ideas .

Many of us have found that the crock pot makes some of the most delicious soups and stews that we have ever had. The long cooked meat and vegetables are easy on the intestines. Take little work. And their is nothing like coming home to the delectable smell of dinner already cooked. Once again you will find thousands of ideas on Google

Last but not least is grilled food, I have Webber's smallest grill called the Smokey Joe. It went down river with me this summer on a five day canoe trip and though a bit bent and beaten still makes the best barbecue ever.

Another option

It has taken me several years to reorganize how I eat and how I cook. It has been a lot of fun. My ideas may not work for you . Just jump in with both feet.

I and everyone else here makes some mistakes and then move on.

I hope to laugh with you with both your successes and failures

To your contined recovery.

Love

Tami!!
Matthew posted some great ideas!!
Steaming is great and it doesn't take long for veggies.
I've gone thru 3 pressure cookers and the recent one that I bought is an electric one and I love it.
A pressure cooker gives you the most tender meats & delicious juices from whatever meat you choose to do in it.
Cooking in one doesn't take as long as your oven.
A slow cooker is very convenient for someone that works.
You can throw meats & veggies in one and have a meal ready when you get home from work.
Give us an idea of what you can eat and we'll go from there.

I can eat just bout anything. But i can't have it fried (IBS) or greasy(IBS) I bake everything which is getting kinda boring no new ways to jazz it up.

I also have a steamer steaming does well but after a while that takes a toll.

I saw on the tv something call the nuwave oven I believe it was called. it said u can bake, broil, steam air fry and more. I was wondering did anyone have one of these and does it make the food really good and no grease?

Hi Tami,
I believe that the Nuwave oven is from an infomercial advertised on tv.
Before purchasing something like that go to
www.infomercialratings.com to check out the product.

Tami,
A convection oven will quickly crisp things such as french fries and Tater Tots without grease. Counter-top convection ovens are available for under $100. Like Dee, I also use a pressure cooker a lot for tender, moist meats, beef stew, chop suey, etc. A pot roast can be cooked in less than an hour. Pork chops take only 12-15 minutes. Newer pressure cookers are quiet and have many safety features, so you needn't be afraid of using one.

Are impingement ovens available in consumer sizes? They're used in the chip industry, to make crisp baked chips, and they're superior to convection ovens for that purpose, but I have no idea if anyone makes any impingement ovens for the consumer market. The only ones I've ever seen were huge, and cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, and up.

I don't think they make an impingement oven for the home.
I've seen them in pizza shops and some fast food places.
I used a commercial convection oven in the school system and it sure baked alot quicker than a regular oven. Now the convection oven is made for home use.
