Hi Joan,

I'm back.

Thanks for thinking of me.

Dee,

Sorry I missed your post the other night. At that point it wasn't going so well. We had been trying to resolve a problem with the fuel delivery system on the truck engine for two days, without any success. Fortunately, the next morning we were able to correct it, and get back on the road.

Hotrod,

We had a lot of wind and rain, which wasn't much fun to drive in, (nor was it much fun to work on the truck, in the rain), but it's probably a good thing that we were broke down for two days, because when we finally got going on Thursday, by the time we drove through Louisiana, (almost sundown), the highways were clear, but there was still two or three inches of snow on the ground, for a long way. It's very unusual for that part of the country to have any snow at all, let alone that much, and so early in the season. Most of the snow that remained was just west of New Orleans, (actually NW of there, since we were on I12 - we didn't actually drive through New Orleans). There was probably about a 20 or 30 mile strip with residual snow, but from there on west, it was already melted, for all practical purposes including Houston.

I'm relieved to hear you're home safe and sound. Hopefully the truck will last many years.

Tex, Sounds like a memorable trip indeed. In 2003 we took a trip to Yellowstone Park with about 20 other hotrodders in our old cars. My car quit running in Brice Canyon, so we were towed to the motel. In our group were 4 professional mechanics who could not get it running in time for our departure the next morning. I finally hot wired it so we could move on. The next day I found a loose wire under the dash. All is well that ends well. Welcome back.

Hotrod,

Touring Yellowstone in a hotrod would have to be quite an experience. I'll bet you drew a lot of stares.
