Is Everything We've Been Taught About Health Wrong?

According to this article, a lot of it is:

http://www.medpagetoday.com/InfectiousD ... alth/12216

 Of course, most of that is just common sense, but I doubt that those research results will convince many parents that sugar doesn't make kids hyperactive.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

This one makes the most sense to me...lol
The same lack of effect shows up in the literature about hangovers. Bottom line? Studies show no benefit for any hangover "cure" -- except not drinking too much in the first place.

While Moderation is key where alcohol is concerned, I learned when I drank Like a Fish that if I mixed alcohol with coke or pepsi or any soda, I had a horrible headache and a really bad hangover, when I started drinking it straight, No hangover. As A parent of a hyper child (all grown up now) I will testify that sugar mad him ping like a ping pong ball of the walls going 90mph!!!!! Drove me nuts. Moderation is key in most things.

The more I watch my youngest stepdaughter, the more I think, sugar simply has the same effect on kids as it has on us...it wakes us up a bit. Only problem is, most kids have WAY more energy than us adults. We are told Erin is the picture of calm, cool, and collected at school. When she gets home...look out she is on the move ALL the time. I'm thankful she knows how to hold it together in the right situation. But the spring gets wound awfully tight with all that behaving going on  and it lets loose when she gets home!
