Thanks for the good thoughts........

Jan & Luce,
Yes, I do think I'll make it through without smoking. As I said, the "wanting times" are a lot shorter than they used to be. I also think about Bill and I going through the quitting process together and I don't want to lose that "connection". Perhaps that's a stupid way to think about it but I find I want to hang onto any memory or any kind of connection I can.

Thanks again for the encouraging words and Jan....... If I could do this, I have no doubt that you can to. I was never able to do it "for myself". It's when Bill had quadrupal bypass surgery and he quit that I did it. I couldn't continue smoking if he didn't and believe me..... I never thought he'd be able to make it. I kept telling myself that I could "not smoke" at least as long as he could. He made it and so did I. So, I quit for him instead of myself but I've never been sorry about that.

Shirley,

Thanks for your insight. I quit because my Mom was diagnosed with lung cancer. She asked me try real hard to quit before she died. I had to use medication but was on that only about 4 months. When I have a particularly hard time I remember the request.

We'll just have to keep reminding each other why we did it.

Jan

I used the patches for a while. Doesn't matter how you did it........YOU DID IT!!
I'm sure you will continue to be successful. Just keep remembering why you did it.
