Update on Roxanne's Daughter
Hello from snowy Beaverton. We are snowed in again and the snow is not supposed to let up till this evening.
One week (seems like more) since Tracy's first treatment. She says she still feels good but the side effects are starting. Those nasty chemicals (or good ones, depending on how you look at it) are working on her platelet count and blood count. She also is experiencing a burning sensation in her mouth and says her tongue especially feels like it is on fire. Of course, she did not listen to mom and have popsicles on hand. The other day she said she has noticed that she has no appetite and is drinking ensure and just eating a little meat and potatoes for dinner. She is using the greens paks I bought her to supplement 15 servings of green vegetables a day. Since she doesnt like veggies's her body probably does not know how to respond to 15 servings of them a day. She is also taking cellfood (another one of my health food supplements). Cell food puts oxygen back into your body and cancer cells hate oxygen. Her oncologist said he did not know if it works but it cannot hurt.
She has a new friend in SanDiego who had surgery 2 days after her and started her chemo on wed. She is the neice of a friend of mine and is very positive which helps Tracy a lot. The next step is the hair issue and Tracy, although prepared with a brown bob wig, is afraid to get up in the morning and look to see if today is the day. If only it doesnt happen until after christmas.
One great thing, she has still been able to bowl on wed nights and since the chemo has been bowling in the 160-180 range and her average is 132. She says they must have added some pro bowling formula to her chemo.
Well that is it for now, Happy holidays to all. Please keep on lighting candles. The day of Tracy's chemo, there were over 90 lit.

Happy holidays to all of you, roxanne

A good reminder for us all, Dee. Praying for her.
And how about you? Anymore hives/splotches? Have you found the cause yet? Be careful and watch your breathing closely when these things happen.
Love, Carol
