Swimming qualifying times

Post by Lucy »

Hi all,

Know what I just discovered? Welp, just got my swimming magazine for Jan/Feb and guess what? I checked out the qualifying time for nationals in California in my favorite event for my age group, and I think I could easily make this time with a little effort between now and then. Don't think that I'll be going to nationals this year as it's in California, however, but if I could get that time, I could feel like I'm good enough to at least swim in that event. I have swum much faster than that minimum long ago, but I've not even been timed since I've gone back to swimming. Matter of fact, I've already had a few weeks layoff recently for various reasons. Probably will feel like I'm starting over again when I go back, hopefully soon. It's hard to get motivated when it's cold, but around Christmas it warmed up a bit. Tonight, the temperature is going back down, but I'm going to keep up my swimming if I at all am able. Besides, I've been eating more lately, and need to get off the weight that comes with that. Wish me luck! Luce

Well, look at YOU, Luce!

I knew you were a lady of many talents, but I didn't know that world-class swimming was one of them! I think you should pull out all of the stops and GO FOR IT. I am impressed!

YOU GO GIRL!

Love,

Polly

Thanks everyone.
Just looked at last year's times, and think I would've finished third from the bottom, but then, it's nationals, after all. Gotta start somewhere, I always say.
I must be losing my mind! No doubt!
Yours, Luce
