I've been having lower back pain (I have a heat pad on right now) and thought it might be related to the osteoporosis. I didn't start getting the pain until after I stopped the Fosamax. But I didn't have the back pain when I visited my daughter this past week. I slept on an 18" air mattress while there. Once I slept in my regular bed back home, the back pain came back, so I'm thinking it's my mattress. It's about 11 years old, which doesn't seem too old to me.

I guess I should get the bone density test, but I need to find a new doctor first. My old doctor doesn't accept our insurance anymore.

Gloria:

In my opinion you might want to check into a new mattress. The one we have is a pillow top mattress and I absolutely love it. One thing I do is every 3 months I get someone to help me flip it over. Sometimes by doing this is helps keep your mattress longer. By doing this it also redistributes the mattress materials so that one side isn't used more than the other.

I hope you find another doctor who takes your insurance as it's pretty important that those of us with osteoperosis get a bone density test at least every 2 years if not every year if our bone deterioration in substancial.

Love and God Bless:
Jodi
