About The New Flags . . .
Hi All,
You'll notice that there are now two small flags beneath your avatar, beside any posts you write, (or at least, there should be). The first one is your "Country IP" flag, and it's a flag that the system assigns to you, based on your computers IP address, (IOW, based on your approximate location in the world). If the system can't figure out your IP address, then you will have a "generic" blue flag, indicating that your IP address is unknown, or indecipherable. The flag below that one, is your "Country of choice" flag, and it's the flag representing the country that you select during registration, or that you select in your profile, if you are already registered. Even unregistered guests are assigned a flag, on the index page, so that we can see which countries are visiting our site.
Also, if you look closely at the information displayed beneath everyone's avatars, beside their posts, you will notice that above the flags, you can see the user's local time and date. That should be a big help for keeping track of the time in the various time zones around the world.
To enable the proper flag to be displayed under your avatar, you just need to go to your profile, and select the correct country, from the drop-down list, (click on the little arrow to see the list), where it says: "User Flag Selected or select one: *". After you finish updating your profile, click on the "Submit" button, at the bottom of the page, to save it. Note that the flags will not be visible under your avatar if you are not logged in, but most of the others, will still be visible.
Also, as I mentioned before, the system will now automatically assign an avatar, to anyone who does not select one. If you select your own avatar, obviously, the system will use that one, and it will not assign one.
All the other flags that you see scattered around the site, are the ones assigned by the system, based on computer IP addresses. Anytime you see a flag that you don't recognize, all you have to do to identify it, is to hover your mouse cursor over it, and a little pop-up window will tell you which country it is associated with.
If anyone has any problems, questions, comments, or whatever, please don't hesitate to bring them to my attention.
Thanks,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Flags
I, too, like the idea of the flags and the time element. Genius at work yet again! Tex, you are truly amazing! Love, Carol

Brenda,
I know!
I have to admit that I gave some serious thought to that, but then I realized that I would have to do the same for every state, and every province, and it would turn into a huge database.
Thanks for the grin.
