A Little Scared right now
This is scaring me a bit, I was at my computer at work today talking to a brainless person and put my head back to sigh to myself and when I brought my head back up, I was so dizzy I thought I would black out. Never did tho. So I ended the call and stood up slowly to go to break. I was even dizzier. I had my cane so I decided to go out and get some air. The ground felt mushy to me and I had to use the walls and My cane to get back to my desk.
Someone at my cubicle took my pulse which was about 180, but I was a little worried at that point. No Numbness, no pain/ I had all my wits and wasn't slurring. I was still dizzy when I got home so I called the local hospital and asked some questions. The er nurse told that I should go ahead and take my mecklazine (spelling) that the Doctor gave me for my balance and dizziness I had before. And If it isn't better in 2 hours to come in. I have an appt with the Doctor in the am. She said if it isn't any better I may want to come in also. So who knows I shall wait the 2 hours. I did take an asprin when I got home. My blood pressure 5 days ago was like a teens as the nurse told me at the doctors office, so I have no Idea what's up yet. Everyone at work is sick with something. Keep your fingers crossed for me....Love Oma
May I be more compassionate and loving than yeterday*and be able to spot the idiots in advance
Awwwwww Oma!!!!!
Thinking of you sweetie!
I was thinking a spike in blood pressure, sugar, which can change at different times.
Good to hear that you have an appointment with your doctor tomorrow to get this figured out.
Like G'ma Mary stated, keep us posted ...

Oma,
I have no way of knowing if this might have happened in your case, but it is possible to tilt your head back far enough that in some cases it can cut off the blood flow to the brain. Believe it or not, there have been cases where some people have had a stroke, after tilting their head back over the edge of a sink, for example, while having their hair rinsed, during a shampoo at their hairdresser. Susceptiblity to this may depend on the exact location of the carotid artery, and various other features of the neck, but it's apparent that tilting your head back triggered something. That type of head motion also might possibly trigger an adverse inner ear effect, especially if it were done in rapid motion. It may also be possible that you might have pinched a nerve, but I'm unfamiliar with neurological effects in such a situation.
I find that if I tilt my head back, sometimes I can feel and hear the blood pulsing in my temples, and maybe see a few stars, floaters, or whatever, along with a little lightheadedness, which is kind of unnerving, so I try to avoid doing that.
Hopefully, your doctor can shed more light on the problem. I hope you're feeling a lot better by now.
Love,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Oma,
I hope you are feeling better. Because it occured after a positional change of the head, there is a posibility that it's a positional vertigo thing. I have that and while most of the time it clears a few seconds after the move, I have days from time to time (usually when an episode is starting) when I'll feel dizzy all day. Could be an inner ear infection from whatever illness is going around the office.
Definately get to the doctor if you aren't better this morning. And take it easy.

Morning Oma,
Thought I was reading something I had posted. Almost a match to the symptoms I have with my imbalance. Now I always get up slowly and especially if I turn my head or put it back, dizziness will come on. Never got a true reading from many test and docs on it but it sounds somewhat like Positional Vertigo. Glad you have an appointment today and keep us posted. I also get heart racing sometimes with it.
Love, Maggie
