It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

I probably had toasted a GF waffle a short time before the explosion.

We were both watching TV and we heard a loud noise. I knew it wasn't ice cubes falling out of the freezer ice dispenser.

That's what we found popping and crackling a bit. Most pieces were on the counter and some on the floor.

It was an older toaster oven that I'd put in the back room when I got a new one. I brought it out to be my GF toaster...........

Yes, you are right about that.

I Googled it and found that other brands have also shattered. Who knew?

I reported it to the CPSC.

Yikes! I've never heard of a toaster blowing up. I'm glad you weren't nearby.

BTW, I used the olive oil on a baked potato at a restaurant yesterday. I added some salt and it tasted much better than when I eat it dry. Thank you for the suggestion.

Holy Cow!!! AND "Holy Cow" about more of them doing that!! Thanks for letting us know that it's possible!! Doesn't seem right about the coffee maker either!! Wonder where they were made.......

Oh well, I'm sure it's politically incorrect to "go there".

Boy oh Boy that was a shock for you I am sure. Looks like my microwave when the magneto blew it up and took all the glass out and part of the cabinet above it. Just cannot trust all those electronics some times.

Thanks. DH said that was the newer of the toasters. It never worked that well. That's why it was retired to the back room.

Maggie, that is REALLY scary. I hope you reported it to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

I do have one of the Martha Stewart glass outdoor tables that is known to shatter and put the company who built them out of business.

WOW, who knew that our homes were such mine fields?

Yes, I do use ghee at home, along with my homemade mayo. I've started making my own ghee. It's a few dollars cheaper than buying it in the store. The nice thing about the olive oil is that most restaurants will have some.
