Hi Lou,
Actually, I had a hard time writing that, because I have no doubt that you do know what you're doing, and you're very good at it. But you know, when I was young, I really thought that I was invincible. I took all sorts of chances, and never worried about accidents, because I just assumed that everything would be all right, and I would live forever. Over the years, I've had a few pretty serious accidents, and miraculously, I've always walked away from them.
But you know what? It has finally dawned on me that I've just been damn lucky, and it's becoming increasingly obvious, (as the years keep clicking along), that I'm not invincible, and I'm not gonna live forever. As a result, I've started trying to dodge some of the more risky activities, because I figure that life's too short to spend a bunch of it in a hospital, or a wheelchair, or whatever, if I can possibly do anything to avoid that.
Anyway, I'm glad that things worked out sort of "diplomatically". It's obvious that you raised Doug right, 'cause he's got a good head on his shoulders. Look at it this way - when Doug comes to see you at home, you can still tell him what he can, and can't do.
Thanks for being so understanding.
Wayne
