Normal D now - Not Water
How sad is it when D is considered good...I get way more cramping this way, but from where I've been since Christmas, I'm considering two rounds of D (Friday night and this morning) a good sign. Especially good was the no poop (except mucus) Sunday and MOnday. I went dairy and soy free on Wednesday last week.

Hiya Katy!
Only Mcers like us can appreciate what it means to have "normal D". I am happy for you that you are seeing some improvement. It sounds as if you are making a major lifestyle change. How are you feeling about it? Will it be difficult for Geoff and the girls, or will you prepare 2 different meals?
Love,
Polly

Hi Katy,
Yep, I'm sure that most people could never appreciate "normal D", the way that we can.
We're a strange bunch, for sure. It sounds like you're making good progress, though. Hopefully, the cramps will fade away, as the inflammation disappears.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Polly,
I'm reaching for dairy products all the time! And some of my more recent discoveries of good gf products are laced with soy flour
.
But, if I gotta do it, I gotta do it.
Geoff is pretty negative about the soy thing because it is in SO many things. But at least it's listed so it should be "easy" to identify. Our evening meals are pretty straight forward most of the time...meat, potato or rice, and a veggie. So for the most part,we should be okay. Summer will be even easier when there are no casserole meals and we grill almost every night. BBQ Sauce has already been a big issue with gluten, so Geoff whips up his own (if only he could remember how he does it each time
).
So 1 week in, I'm surviving. I hope it's only one of the two and once I heal I can figure it out easily. But whatever happens happens.

Katy, my G/C/S F book from Cecelia's Marketplace has a bunch of bbq sauces listed. Some are from grocery stores such as Hy-Vee, Publix and Wegmans (is that a store?) Others are Bone Suckin' Sauce, Daddy Sam's, Homestyle Meals, Mr. Spice Organic, Organicville, Saz's and Sweet Baby Ray's. Check the labels because I have found some errors in the book.

Joan,
Wegman's is my favorite grocery store ever! But it's only in a fairly limited part of the Northeast. (NJ, NY, and maybe PA and Connecticut). *sob* Makes me homesick for Jersey! (The trouble with living different places is you get homesick for all of them!)
Love,
Courtney

Courtney,
You will be happy to hear that Wegman's continues to expand. They built one near me in MD 2 years ago, and we hear it's their most successful store. (It was their 69th store). I believe they have added two more in MD now. Quite an experience to shop there! I love everything except the seafood. Coming from the Chesapeake Bay area, I am very picky about seafood. I guess folks from Rochester (where the original store is) cannot be faulted for their seafood choices!
