Hi everyone, I've been busy teaching and coping with what I think is some sort of stomach or intestinal bug. I was sooo sick Sunday night. The problem when you have mc and thyroid issues is you never know if you're really sick or if it's just your usual problems or if it's your medication! I wish there was some sort of scanner I could run myself through to know for sure. I've been on entocort for almost 2 weeks and so far so good until I got this bug. Most mornings when I wake up I feel so overwhelmed with all the physical issues mc brings on and I wonder how I'll feel and worry about what the day will bring. Then I think of all of you out there getting up and facing the day and just knowing you're facing it, too, gives me the ooomph I need to get going. Thanks for the daily boost I get from this board. Hi JoAnn,
Sorry to hear that you might have a bug, but it's certainly going around, and teaching puts you at a high-risk of being exposed to anything that's going around.
I hope it doesn't last long.

Thanks Tex, Gloria, & Joan, Today's the first day I've felt kind of good. I haven't eaten peanut butter since I got the enterolab tests back-I figure I'm sensitve to that, too. I'm around 25 little germ carriers 5 days out of the week plus a little grandson, so I'm sure one of them is responsible. By the way, I know entocort suppresses the immune system, but does it affect the whole body? I was wondering if it's easier to pick up "stuff" when you're on it and does it take longer to get over it? I'll bet Tex knows! JoAnn

Hi JoAnn,
Yes, Entocort, and any of the immune system suppressing drugs will definitely make you more vulnerable to infections of any kind. Those meds downshift your immune system a gear or two, so that it is much less effective in warding off, and fighting disease, unfortunately.
It's good to hear that you're feeling better, though.

I don't envy you. You should be drawing hazardous duty pay, under those conditions.
You're most welcome.
