How many involved in CCFA? Polly!

Post by Lucy »

Hi all,

How many of you have anything to do with CCFA? I just got curious when reading some of the posts today.

By the way, I found some VERY interesting statements in the area of their site that discusses complications under the topic of bone loss, particularly in terms of the statistics on actually bone damage compared to those with Crohn's and U.C. with actual osteoporosis compared to the general public with osteoporosis. I wonder why the fractures in those patients, despite obvious bone loss, is so much lower, IF these stats are correct???? Wow, I hope this applies in my situation.

Hiya Luce!

I have not been involved with CCFA. I knew that you were, and I enjoyed receiving the info you sent me in the past. What is the data you are referring to? Sounds interesting.

Always good to hear from you!

Love,

The only way I am or ever will be involved with them is a small donation to our friend's grandson (Crohn's) for his fund raising walk.

When I had to fight the VP of Research and something else (through their phone specialist) because she said MC was not an IBD, that was just much too much. I spent a lot of time pursuing the righting of this error and finally got the answer "it was a mistake". DUH!

Polly,
I don't remember sending you anything, but maybe I came across something of theirs in the past. I've never found anything that had anything to do with our condition there, so I do remember talking to someone there about including us, but don't think I was successful, but then I never read their site any further after that -- really no reason to.

If you look at their site, you'll see a link to Complications. Click that, and one of them will be osteoporosis.
It would be better for everyone to read it there. I had just clicked on the CCFA link that had the journalist with M.C.'s article recently, and that's what made me want to refer what they have to say about osteoporosis with these diseases. I think those of you who have or are interested in osteoporosis will find the content interesting.

Yours, Luce
