Hi Senior,

Yes Robert is taking very good care of me. It all went well. I start physiotheraphy on Thursday. It is a bit painful right now but the ice packs help.

The bushfires are dreadful. The death toll is up to 173 now & more expected. It is the worst it has ever been, even worse that the Ash Wednesday fires years ago, & they were bad enough. To think that some of these fires were deliberately lit!!!! They are on the track of arsonists & they will be charged with mass murder. There are still 24 fires burning out of contral & other towns are at risk.

This is a link to the news.

I will post later. Can't sit here for too long/

Glad to hear everything went well and you're at home under good care.

I've been reading about the horrible fires. I can't believe someone would deliberately set them and cause deaths. I hope they catch the person(s).

Liz,

Thanks for logging in. We appreciate the update, and I hope the pain doesn't keep you from sleeping tonight.

Thanks Gloria & Wayne.
Yes I am home & being a good girl & resting & using the ice packs as directed. I don’t think that I will be running around the block just yet. It was really funny yesterday when I got wheeled into the theatre. The anaesthetist, the surgeon & the nurse were talking & I just caught “right shoulder” I gave real start & repeated it. My surgeon laughed & asked me what my name was, when I was born & what I was having done & asked me what the big arrow pointing to my left knee that he had been around earlier & put there was for. He asked me what I could see above me & I said it was a big light. He said that was so they could see the arrow. He said my face was a picture. They had been talking about the next patient on the list. Well, I had heard of mistakes being made.

Love

Liz

I'm sure that was a little scary right before your surgery. I'm glad you had the presence to ask about it and be reassured. LOL

Liz,

I'll bet that was a bit unnerving to hear. You know, now that I think about it, they didn't do some of that stuff when I had my abdominal surgery. No arrows, and the only questions they asked were about my name and birth date, and those were easy, because they were both printed on my wrist band.

I've heard of patients being told to count backwards from a hundred, but when the anesthetist stuck a mask on my face, and told me that "this will help you to breath easier", he said to count to 10. I think I made it to 2. The next thing I knew, I was waking up in a strange room.

Hi Liz,

Glad to hear things went well and I would have been a bit scared too overhearing that conversation. Take care and don't push things too hard. Time will heal you up just fine.

Love, Maggie

My daughter had a similar experience after surgery. She asked me if she had "C" and I had no idea what the heck she was talking about. She meant cancer. She'd heard the nurses talking about someone else.

Also at that hospital, a doctor gave the patient's husband terrible news right in the waiting room. He was sitting right next to me, so I heard everything!

I went to see the administrator. They were adding on to the hospital and he said there would be a private area for giving the patient updates to their loved ones.

I saw another doctor take someone who was waiting, in between a double set of sliding doors that was the entry to the waiting room!
