I was hoping the new internist would show some familiarity with MC, but he didn't let me know one way or the other. When I asked him if he would prescribe Entocort for me, he said he would leave treatment of my MC in my GI's hands. Pretty disappointing, but understandable. I told him I was controlling it also with diet and he wrote down which foods I've eliminated. I also told him about the stool testing and he didn't react. This was my first visit, though and I'm sure he was trying to make a good impression.
He was pretty concerned about my osteoporosis, especially after seeing the degeneration between tests. I have an order for another test. He was pretty bothered when I told him I stopped taking Fosamax, though he said it was ultimately my decision. I told him that I was hoping I had halted the degeneration now that I'm getting my autoimmune problem under control. I hope the test doesn't show more deterioration, but even if it's the same, I think he's going to encourage me to go back on Fosamax.
I'll probably have the test done next week. I'll let you know what happens. I haven't been as diligent about exercising as I should be, only 1-2 times a week.
