Why do they only make them micro-mini? Ridiculous.

Wasn't Gloria the person who said she melted them and put them in a candy mold?

I nuke a tiny amount of chips and dunk my Enjoy Life Sunbutter Bars in the melted chocolate.

Not a clue as to why they make them mini.
Yes, Gloria does use them in a candy mold.
I make peanut butter cups using the mini foil muffin liners and sunflower seed butter in the middle of the peanut butter cups.

Dee,

How do you melt them (remember I am a novice at this) and then do you just top the peanuts with them or do I need a mold?

Joan, I was able to get on the web site. Do you know you can buy them in bulk from Amazon.com?

Rose,

I always melt my chocolate in a double boiler. I have not had good luck in the microwave. Joan gave you a good idea -- by using a pot (with the hot water in it) and a oven proof glass bowl on top. The water doesn't need to touch the bottom of the bowl but should be close. Put your chocolate in the bowl and stir until melted. You might need to turn the fire on under the water to reheat it if the chocolate is taking too long to melt. When the chocolate is melted, put your peanuts in it, stir and then drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper. Allow to cool and enjoy. I usually then keep them in the refrigerator, just so they don't melt when you pick one up to eat.

Hi Rose!
I just melt mine in the microwave.
If you're going to melt the whole bag, use a deep enough glass bowl that will allow you to put your peanuts in after the chocolate melts.
Start melting at 30 seconds. Stir. Go 10 seconds more . Stir. If the chips don't all melt after that amount of time go another 10 seconds. Remember that your microwave heats from the inside out so the chips don't have to be completely melted in the microwave. They will continue melting while you are stirring.
Add whatever kind of nuts that you want.
Lay out a piece of waxed paper on a cookie sheet.
After mixing the chocolate & nuts together, take a rounded teaspoon of your mixture and drop it on the waxed paper. It will harden up.
To speed up the hardening process you can put the cookie sheet with the peanut clusters in the refrigerator.

I bought Wilton's Chocolate Pro Melting Pot, thinking it would melt the chocolate at a proper temperature to temper it (so that it doesn't have to be refrigerated). It doesn't, so I usually begin the melting in the Wilton pot and then put the removable pot in another pot of boiling water. The Wilton pot doesn't seem to melt it thin enough to pour.

I just bought some more Wilton heart candy molds at half-price for $1 each because they are a Valentine's day product. I'm going to pretend that they are Dove chocolate hearts from now on.

I always refrigerate them after I make them. I once took them to Utah and kept them in my suitcase. To my dismay, they had become powdery sitting at room temperature, so now I never keep them at room temperature.

Wowwie, Wow, Wow,

I can't wait. Thank you all for your tips. You have made my cc day. Now I don't have to sit and smell the container of my dh's peanut M & M's. We are a nut family here and I all I ever do is just smell them and dream of eating them.

Love,

Rose
