Hello Joan,

I think that drug companies should be held far more accountable than they are at present. Doctors are encouraged to prescribe drugs out of hand. You just have to look around a doctors' surgery to see the stuff that is given to them, and that is just the small stuff. Some doctors are treated to 'seminars' at luxury resorts where they are urged to prescribe drugs to their patients. You only have to look at cholesterol medication to see what the results can be. If you notice, the level of cholesterol where we are told that drugs are necessary is getting lower and lower. All drugs have side effects but we are not always told about them and these days you don't always get that piece of paper in the box telling you about the drug, its doses, side effects and warnings.
