I am coming along well. I am gaining some weight, and more importantly I feel better every day. I am taking laps around the block with the dogs 3-4 times a day, it's only a 1/4 mile. It's funny how our pets seem to sense a problem with us, my dogs are high energy (a lab and an aussie cattle x) they keep stopping and turn around and look at my like if to say "are you O.K.?". I wonder when we humans lost so much of our instinctive abilities?
this is Dakota, he is 13 y.o. now

this is Rose, she is 1 1/2 y.o.

my cabin. this is where I'll spend the summer recuperating once the snow melts!!!!

I have spent the past two weeks reading old posts on this sight. I am amazed at the wealth of information available here for anyone who takes the time to look it up. I have always had a "sweet tooth", I am just starting to realize how this affection for conffection may have started the ball rolling in the wrong direction many years ago! By the way for those of you trying to avoid sugar, I really love Xylitol, no bad aftertaste.
looking forward to spring

What an absolutely georgeous place!!! I LOVE IT!! Hope you can get there as soon as possible and I wouldn't leave until I really had to if I were you!! I can just picture you and the dogs enjoying yourselves out there.
I'm really glad you are feeling better and thanks so much for posting the pictures and giving us a little glimpse into your world.

Ditto. That stream looks like it was made for fly fishing.

Thanks for the update. I love all your photos. I like the dogs and cabin so much more than the fish pictures. I did show the fish pictures to DH and he liked them....
Is your wife still GF with you at home?
So glad you are feeling better.

Yes she is still in it with me "till the end" as she puts it. I have no doubt about how lucky I am, and what an amazing person she is. Since this whole deal started she has never once complained or said "I wish we could". It's been all "me" and getting better. In sickness and in health, right.JLH wrote:Thanks for the update. Dan,
That's a beautiful fish, all right. That shot is fit for the cover of any good fishing magazine.
All of your photos are great. You obviously know your way around a camera.
Thanks for sharing the Great Outdoors with us.

Dan,
Those are all truly impressive photos. Shirley is right - they should be posted where we can always find them, whenever we need our spirits lifted, or inspiration, or whatever. How about this?

Hi Dan,
So happy to hear that you are on the mend after such a miserable illness. Dakota and Rose are gorgeous beasts! Also, I enjoyed all of your photos. The cabin looks perfect for R and R. And aren't you lucky to have such a compassionate wife?
Yes, please post your photos where we can check them out anytime.
Love,
Polly

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
