Has anyone tried a rotation diet? Have you found it useful?

Faith,

I used the rotation diet for an oat challenge that I did a couple of years ago. Basically, I ate certified wheat-free oat cereal for breakfast, on Saturdays and Tuesdays, (alternating 3-day and 4-day rotation). This pattern did delay the onset of symptoms, but it eventually caught up with me. I explained my reasoning behind the rotation pattern in the third link in the series noted in this topic:

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hi Faith,

Not sure if you can call what I do an official rotation diet but I used to cook meals for the week and found myself eating the same thing numerous nights and days in a row. Last September I decided that every night I scratch cook - always did scratch cook - a different meal and I honestly have to say that I have improved immensely since September. I also do not take in the same vegetables 2 nights in a row and avoid a good number of greens since they set me off.

I would give it a whirl if I were you and hopefully you might have the same response as I did.

Love, Maggie

It's helpful to hear your experience, Maggie. I think I will give it a try when I can eat more again.

Tex, your oats trial was fascinating. I was able to eat one serving, but two would give me D. I never ate them much, but now if I try oats give me pain.
