I certainly see your point, but I have to agree with Barbara. I too love animals, and I enjoy reading about them, working and playing with them, and just plain watching them, (especially wild animals). I do not find any relaxation value in discussing an animal's name, however. There are a zillion topics related to that dog that might have been interesting, IMO, (and yes, this is just my opinion), but the choice of names is not one of them.
To begin with, who cares what the public thinks about that name?

It's none of their business, and they have no right to critique it. That name is the property of the owners of that pooch, (and the dog itself), and they should be the only ones concerned about whether it's right or wrong. If they're happy to call the dog "Cat", I couldn't care less - it's their choice, and it's not my job, (nor my moral right), to critique it. Does a name really matter? Heck I probably would have just named it "Dog".
