Hello Everyone:
Got up this morning and took all the advise and suggestions from everyone and called my GI. I am waiting to hear from the NP to find out what they can do to help me get samples. Hopefully, she'll call me back soon.
I did take only 1 capsule 3mgs this morning to see if I can tolerate going down on my dosage. The last time I tried this was in Jan. and within 3 days the D came back so I went right back up to 2 capsules 6mgs daily.
David has truly had his hands full since yesterday afternoon with me and I am so blessed having him by my side. However, I have NOT been Miss Personality for several hours. As most already know about me "I am the caregiver" and I become very "bullheaded" when I start feeling that certain situations are out of my control. I'm not trying to be a pain in the butt, however, I'm angry and hurt when I feel that soooooo many people are NOT going to regular check ups and are NOT taking medications because they are unable to afford them. Our system is in terrible shape and if there were just 1 individual that I could contact and say "Hey.....You!!!!! We need to talk and you need to help change this NOW!"
As soon as I hear back from my GI's office I will update and let everyone know what they can do to help me.
Thank You so much Carol for suggesting that I ask for samples because in my anger and frustration that thought didn't even cross my mind. However I did find out from the receptionist that they have 2 sample bottles of Entocort with 6 pills in each bottle that I can have but I am still waiting to her from my GI's NP to see when the drug rep will be in or if they can contact them and get me more.
Love and God Bless:
Jodi

Update on getting my Entocort
May God and All His Angels, watchover, protect and guide you "One Day At A Time".
Jodi,
I truly understand. While I do have insurance that does well on long term prescriptions, it doesn't do well on those that the Dr. won't prescribe for 90 days at a time for a year. Even with that, my co-pay for long term prescriptions went up 300% (this is not a typo) this year.
I hope you get good news from your Dr. with samples. If they can't provide you with samples for the long term don't forget to ask if they can help you get what you need at a much reduced rate from the manufacturer.
Good luck.
