sorry i have not been online for the past couple of weeks...apart from my peice of crap computer...i have had 2 pretty tough flares....chest infection and now the flu...
I have been in bed for 3 days solid tying to shake this cold virus...also took a week off work sick..to try to recover..
I have been taking tons of vit c and echinchea herb capsules and i think this is doing the trick..well at least its helping anyway... dont see the point in visiting my doc unlss i get another infection...other than that things are hunky dory lol!!!
Angy,
I'm so sorry you keep getting hit with these sicknesses!! Your resistance must be really low. Have you considered taking extra Vit. D to try and build yourself up a bit?
Sure hope you are feeling lots better REAL SOON.
Love, Shirley

Sorry to hear that you've been having such an unpleasant time. I hope that whatever you've got, runs it's course pretty soon, so that you can enjoy the beautiful spring that's coming on.
I agree with Shirley - some extra vitamin D might be in order, to help ward off those viruses in the future.
Take care of yourself.
Tex
P. S. About 4,000 to 6,000 IU of vitamin D3 daily, is currently recommended, especially if you might be low.

If its any consolation my DH has had the same thing. Fortunately no high fever, but he sure has felt badly. Sorry you have had this too. Maybe a little chicken soup would help? DH has taken lots of decongestants, Mucinex DM, and lots of Tylenol.
Angy,
So sorry to hear you're sick again. It's been a long winter for you. I hope you feel better soon. Are you still having to go that fellow's home that has all the germs?
Gloria
You never know what you can do until you have to do it.
So sorry to hear you've been feeling under the weather. I can't remember what med's you're taking but I do know that if taking Entecort that it does compromise your immuine system and makes it very hard to fight off viruses that are flying around especially at this time of year when the season is once again changing. David and I have to be very careful right now because with his COPD and me being on Entocort we make sure that family and friends STAY AWAY if they are sick. The last thing we want or need is anything they are getting. It's so hard with our grandchildren, especially getting them to understand why they CAN'T drink out of G'Ma's glass or Papa's and that we love lots of hugs and kisses but if they are sick they have to be careful around us.
With the field of work you are in it has got to be next to impossible to stay away from those who are contageous and able to spread viruses to others.
Hopefully you will be up and around feeling much better really soon. Have truly missed you and do your best to get back on the mend towards better health.
Love and God Bless:
Jodi
P.S. Tex was such a "Love" and put some angels on our emoticons for me to pick from. He's the greatest! I love the new ones he found and put on. You'll have to check them out.

So sorry to hear that you are hit again with another bug. Sure hope it clears away real fast and that you can enjoy yourself this Spring & Summer. You have had a really rough winter this year and hopefully it will soon be well behind you.
Love, Maggie

Resident Birder - I live to bird and enjoy life!
You're sure having a tough time of it. We're seeing a new strain of swine flue suddenly getting started over here. It seems that flu season is just getting started, when it should be ending.
Hope you get rid of it pretty soon - you've been sick a long time.
Tex

Yes it is, except that this strain is apparently a combination of two different swine viruses, a bird virus, and probably a human virus, and it's being passed directly from human to human.
Glad you're feeling better.

I don't know if the avian strain has been shown to be from the highly contagious H5N2 version, or not, (I need to read up on it), but yesterday the news was reporting that 20 people have been verified to have died from this virus in Mexico, and 40 more "suspicious" deaths there were being investigated. It doesn't sound good, because some of the reports I read mentioned that it seems to affect young, healthy people the worst, (much like the pandemic of 1918, when so many young people died from the flu).

Most people over there must be terrified of catching this...IOW if eating chickens will have any effect because you would think that they would be sensitive to that bird flu...then if they have it we get it...I hope those med labs have got a handle on how to deal with this..
