Those photos are definitely keepers. I was going to say that if your back yard always presents photo opportunities such as that, you could probably make a small fortune leasing it out to birders.
The new forum is ready to go. If you see anything that needs to be changed, please let me know.

Tex,
Thanks for setting up the forum! I'll be surprised if we ever have a show like we had yesterday. I'm sure they are just passing through. We generally do have a lot of Cardinals, Scrub Jays, Sparrows, Juncos, Doves, even Road Runners sometimes. Oh, yes and the Woodpeckers. They are so funny. They will even tap on the chimney cap. I was told recently that the pecking is a mating call. I couldn't figure out why they would peck at the chimney cap but I guess that made sense. It makes a lot louder noise than pecking on the tree!
I didn't know that about the woodpeckers. I've heard them doing that, and wondered what was wrong with them. That's downright innovative of them, to come up with that trick.
As Shirley mentioned, good photos of any birds are always welcome - they don't have to be exotic or spectacular. We enjoy them all.
You're most welcome, of course.

I think that was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Today, just the usual, except for one Blue Jay. We were lucky ducks! If they had come on a week day we never would have seen them.
AWESOME! What a great group of birds you had in one day and I sure wish that day was repeated in my neck of the woods. You are definitely in a great spot for variety and so colorful. Put them down on your life list.
Love and thanks so much for posting the pics. Maggie
