Hi,

I have no idea whether or not you ever had asthma, (I had it until I reached my 20s), but this article adds more evidence to the theory that food allergies are related to other allergic reactions.

I located this article after it was referenced in an article in the June/July, 2009 issue of Living Without magazine, about a child with incredibly severe asthma symptoms, who found relief, after a "new" doctor tested her for food intolerances, and recommended that she avoid gluten and dairy products.

Hi Tex,

Thanks for the links. The connection with food allergy is interesting. I've never had asthma or any type of classical (IgE) mediated allergy problems. The type of non IgE cellular-allergy reaction I have is something that's only been investigated quite recently in the professional allergy journals and research. This is a great link to the allergy journals. I'll try to poke around a bit and see if I find anything.

Interesting...

I never had asthma until I brought my mother's cat to live in my house when my mother went into a nursing home. Pneumonia followed the asthma that winter. I continued to have a fairly mild case of asthma during winter until I went on Entocort for MC and, of course, changed my diet. This past winter I don't recall having any symptoms of asthma.

Hmmmmmmm. That's interesting, also. Entocort, of course, should suppress asthma, but the diet may have played a major role this winter, since you were down to a pretty low dose of Entocort by then.
