Goodmorning Maggie:

I'm really hoping that you receive my surprise today or tomorrow at the latest. I'm excited to hear if you received it and if you liked what I made for you.

Had a very exciting day yesterday.........................David and I saw our very first Hummingbird of the Season. It totally surprised me because I didn't know for sure if they were back or not. I put our feeder out Friday on the 1st and SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!Last night about 7p.m. I looked out on the deck and there was one at out feeder already! Both David and I really enjoy watching the Hummers and do you know wether or not some of the Hummers from last year will return to the same feeders? I know this sounds dumb but we had the most beautiful one last year. It was a female but her color was soooooooo beautiful it was almost an emerald green. One of the prettiest females I've ever saw. Infact I named her Emerald and when I would sit out on the deck the Hummers would actually come right up close to me and just hover, go back to the feeder and then hover close to me while I sat in my chair and I would have a very nice conversation with them. LOL

Hope you are doing well and will be waiting to hear if you received your package.

Love and God Bless:
Jodi

I do believe the hummers return to the same feeders, Jodibelle. Bill always knew when to put out our feeders because one would come hover in front of the picture window. They are truly fascinating and beautiful creatures.

Jodi,

I can't wait to see the surprise.

BTW, our neighbors have a couple of feeders in their back yard and those little guys buzz right through ours to get to the feeder. We always have to keep our garage door closed though b/c a couple of times we have had one fly in and not be able to find its way back out and boy is it hard to get them out.

Love,

Rose

Thank You Shirley!

David and I have only been in our apartment a little over a year and last spring we put out only a Hummingbird Feeder because the management wouldn't give the O.K. to put up regular bird feeders because of the seeds etc. They did say we could put out nectar for the Hummingbirds though.

We loved so much watching them and I was wondering since they are considered to be teritorial if we might see some of the same ones this year. Of course I realize that it will depend on wether they survive the migration. It sure would be AWESOME to see if Emerald returns because she was so beautiful and playful. LOL

Hi Rose:

How ya doing? I can't wait to hear when you do receive your package because I'm hoping you and Maggie will enjoy my creations.

We've been having some real nice weather here in Michigan and have been waiting for the Hummers to return. David and I are like 2 little kids watching them. HeeHeeHee!!!!!!!!!

Emerald would come right up to our sliding glass door and just hover looking inside at us. She was probably seeing her own reflection but so great to watch as they would feed. I could even sit in my chair and David on the bench and they would feed, hover and fly right around us without being afraid of us at all.

Hi Jodi,

I sure hope Emerald returns and they will come back to their same area each year. Hummingbirds suffer less loss during migration than some other birds do. Hope she appears real soon and they are a real delight to watch but VERY territorial. If you ever see them fight off new comers, you will see a heck of a fight.

Love, Maggie

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!

Hi Maggie!

We so love watching the hummers and love their beauty. We would love to put out other feeders but the Managers won't give permission Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! So we will just be patient as they arrive and enjoy them again this year. Will let you know if Emerald returns.

Jodi,

I just received your package. Thank you so much. It is beautiful. You are so thoughtful, I was just so happy that I could help you out in your time of need.

I have just finished building our ark. It has rained here since Friday. We need it, but enough already.

Love and God Bless you,

Rose

Morning Jodi,

I got your package yesterday and it is absolutely gorgeous and so reminded me of my grandmother's and mother's hand work. The colors are wonderful and it is going below the base of a Tiffany lamp I have that reflect almost the same colors. You are such an angel.

Love, Maggie

I am a hummer lover, also.
I put 2 feeders up 2 weeks ago down where we camp.
Received a note from a fellow camper that the hummers have returned.
It is nothing to see 8 of them on my big feeder at a time.
I have seen them fight and Maggie, you are right, it isn't a pretty sight.
Last year I had a little bully & it would sit on top of the shepards hook and attack any trying to get to the feeder.
I have a suction window feeder where I can stand inside the trailer and really get a close up of them.
Anxious now, to get down there Wednesday to see them.

Love

Dee,
Every year we had at least one sometimes more who "stand guard" and try to run everyone else off the feeders. We had a window feeder also and I really enjoyed watching them. Finally, we put up another feeder on the other side of the house so more of them could eat in peace. We figured the "guard" couldn't cover both feeders and one couldn't (at least all the time) but if there were two who wanted to be the guard then it at least kept them apart most of the time. The guards were always male.

Maggie,
How much harm would it do for me to put out my feeders for only 6 weeks in Pa while I am up ther in June/July? A friend of mine lives no more than 1/2 mile (maybe less) from me and she also feeds all the birds. I don't want to get them dependant on me and then leave them lacking. Do you think it would do any harm?

Perhaps they won't come to my feeders anymore since no one will be there when they arrive anyway. That almost makes me cry.

Hi Dee!

I'm so happy that so many enjoy watching the Hummingbirds as much as I do.

They really make our day and some of their antics when other Hummers try to take over their feeders are truly scarry to watch but also funny when they let others know that they've crossed the line.

Hope you're able to get to your camping spot soon so you can once again enjoy your Hummers with the rest of us.

Love and God Bless:
Jodi
