communion in Arizona

Post by barbaranoela »

Lou and I attended Carmen and Gene's services----and I cant really describe the nature of their reverence--it was not a Catholic Church--yet--U felt the luve and the joy when the people spoke and praised Jesus--
I will add that at communion time--one received a wee nugget of a cracker---and a wee drink of GRAPE juice representing the body and blood of Jesus---

As I was raised Catholic --I have to say that my faith has been tested and I havent received good marks--I neither attend Mass nor the sacraments--naturally--my kids went to CCD every Saturday morning but as they reached a point in their adult life---they all chose their own way~~~~

At our church here in New City--St. Augustine--there is no feeling--it is a rush in--hear the sermon and rush out
And the sermons are all PREACHING!!! U must--U have to---etc...and then Father would say---NO clanking of change in the basket--which is telling U he wanted the BILLS---

I would *think* that if U told your Pastor of your intolerance to gluten--he wouldnt mind blessing a small piece of a cracker that U might hold in your hand--thus giving U the importance of having the BODY of Jesus fill your hearts~~~

My grammer and high schools scared the living deaths outta U---which I dont believe that was the way the ALMIGHTY wanted him to be represented~~~

Luve to U all=

Morning Barbara,

I could not agree more with the Catholic upbringing - all the many years of having the bejesus scared out of us in school and having to memorize the Penny Catechism. I abandoned it after a very serious run in with one priest over his views of what I should do to just "annul" a marriage instead of divorce.

They have no "give" in their Church and just want the money and get you in and get you out.

Love, Maggie
