Rose,

Thanks for the extra information. I'm relieved to see that he was taking those blood samples. Of course, if he was that hard to get along with, one has to wonder if he could really be trusted. It's possible to get those records from the Records Department of the hospital, (if you are interested enough to really want them). Usually, you just have to fill out a form listing which records you want, (date, types of reports, etc). They are usually available free of charge to the patient, and to local doctors, but attorneys and unaffiliated doctors may have to pay for them. Of course, there's probably no law to keep them from charging the patient, for that matter, and there is almost always a charge, (per page), if they have to mail the reports to the patient. I've always picked them up in person, free of charge, but, of course, YMMV.

I believe that it's not uncommon for certain liver enzymes to be elevated for individuals taking Humira, also, (such as ALT). Has your rheumatologist ever commented on his thoughts as to why the Humira is not controlling your MC symptoms? For most people, it does, of course. Maybe the elevated enzymes contain a clue as to why it doesn't control your symptoms.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Tex,

B/c my enzymes were elevated and I was unable to take the methotrexate, the Rhume put me on Humira (he wanted me to do both b/c my psoriatic arthritis is so bad). I will have to call the first dr's office to see if I can get the records.

As far as the Humira working on the MC, everyone is baffled at that one. My GI and the Rheumatologist both can not understand why this is not helping since this is what is given to their Chrohn's patients. My new GI seems to think that b/c I have all these other issues involved, my IBD, gallbladder removal, slow transit through the small bowel along with the MC, that this is why it might not be helping.

Love,

Rose
