Got the order from Kinnikinnick

Post by starfire »

Tried a Maple Glazed Donut. Delicious. I am throughly impressed. I hope the Vanilla Glazed are as good as these. I don't remember why I didn't try the chocolate (would have been my first choice) - perhaps they had soy.

I am looking forward to trying the bagels and 2 kinds of bread. Hope they are as good as the donuts.

I'm really sorry they aren't egg & casien free so more of you could try them. So far I'm very impressed because most gluten free bread products have been a great disappointment to me.

I mean no disrespect to Dee's and the other's recipes on this site as I have yet to try them. I expect they would be much better than the standard fare. I just haven't had interest in cooking for a while.

Hmmmmm. I hadn't had any in a while, but your post made me hungry, so I had to go dig out a box I had in the freezer, and nuke one. Yep, they are indeed good. All I've got on hand are the Vanilla Dipped version, but I notice that they are labeled free of gluten, dairy, and soy. They do contain eggs, as you mentioned, and yeast. The next time I get to the HFS, I'll have to see if I can find the Maple flavored ones. I haven't seen those in this neck of the woods before, but I haven't been to the HFS in quite a while.

Thanks for the heads up on the Maple Glazed Donuts.

Love,
Tex

Well, I tried the Sunflower Flax Rice Bread. Won't buy any more. Rather do without bread. Can't be a winner every time.

Yep, I've thrown away a lot of different types of GF bread, over the years.

I've tried some Blueberry Muffins by Kinnikinnick, before, and they were quite good. I haven't bought any more though, because I'm not much of a muffin or bread eater, anymore. If you like that sort of thing, though, I highly recommend them.

Oooo...Maple glazed? Gotta get me some of those. I can get Cinnamon sugar donuts in my grocery store, but that is the only flavor they carry in my neck of the woods in mainstream retailers. Those have become my breakfast staple since I found out dairy was a problem and had to drop my yogurt breakfast staple.

Hope you can find them Katy.

I tried a bagel today. Better than the bread but not by a lot. I'm starting to think the donuts are the only "hit" of the stuff I decided to try. I do still like a little bread for breakfast. For some time now I have been having a slice of toasted Pepperidge Farm Jewish Seeded Rye with either cheese or peanut butter. It has always seemed that Rye (particularly P.F. brand) was easier on my "inners". It's not a light soft bread. Perhaps it doesn't have as much gluten as some others. I'm not recommending people try this. It's just something I have done and I know I need to give it up. I know it still has gluten.
