TOWN VOTE TODAY

Post by barbaranoela »

Us New Cityites are tired of our taxes going up and up--- soooooooooo today we go and vote the ones --who up the taxes--out---and put new peoples in!!! so that we can scream at their increases!!!

For instance--like the High School needed a HUGH swimming POOL with a skylight!!! GOOD let the parents pay!!
WE do get a small percent off taxes cus we are seniors!!! god I finally said the word!!!
Dont mind being a senior---but these taxes are killing all of us here!!!

Till later---have a good day---smile and the world smiles with U---so they say!!!

Barbara,

It sounds like y'all do it right, up there in Noo Yawk.

On Saturday, a week ago, the little town where I went to school, tried to pass a school bond issue for several million dollars, to build a new track, and some related athletic facilities. That might not sound like a lot of money, to someone in a huge school district, or someone living in a school district that gets most of it's tax money from oil or gas production, but in this tumble-down, one-horse town, it's big bucks. The facilities they already have, are a hell of a lot better than they were when I went to school, and back then, the town was booming, but I suppose that's irrelevant to people trying to pass school bond issues. Now, I certainly have nothing against spending money to improve education, when it's needed, but in the current economy, that project would have jumped our taxes waaaaay up in this little community, so it was soundly defeated, of course. I guess we're kinda dimwitted, though, 'cause it never occurred to us to try to vote anybody out of office.

I have a hunch that we'll all have enough taxes to satisfy us, anyway, when the government decides to start trying to collect the money it's going to need to pay for all the bailout money that it's been throwing around.

Yes, enough is enough!

Our governor wants to increase the state taxes by 50%. He's blaming our former infamous governor, naturally. I say they need to learn to live within their budget, like the rest of us.

Hi Barbara,

I agree 110% with you on the reduction for seniors. I read our new President's plan for the benefits to Seniors and it would be great if the enacted it all but it will never happen. After a certain time in your life and with no children in schools, the school taxes need to be cut or eliminated for seniors. Since over 75% of school buses don't have seat belts maybe they should put them in before AC. Poor kiddies. They should have gone through what we did when we were kids. LOL

Love, Maggie
