back from seeing Robert-Vets Cemetary

Post by barbaranoela »

Lou and I went to place flowers and some pictures on Roberts grave---he was in NAM---and I shall never forget the tribute paid to him---the 21 gun salute---the folding of the flag and then the presentation of it--
As U all know Robert passed from diabetic issues---in 04--
Today I sobbed my heart out because there stood Louie (Korea) saluting Robert as we thanked him and all the other Vets for protecting our country~~~~

It has been a very emotional time---- but we stand strong and will always be a strong nation~~~

:hug1:

Barbara,
I have three brothers and I can't imagine losing any of them. Louie sounds just as compassionate as you are. What a nice tribute you both gave to Robert today.

thank U Gloria-----mom and dad had just the 2 of us----Robert was in the service when our dad died from a massive heart attack(53 years young) and naturally Robert was sent home---soon there after he developed a diabetic condition which the doc's said that sudden shock could have brought it on??? None of us had any diabetic issues so I dont know how true that statement is---
He took good care of himself but as the years passed more issues developed with Robert---
He survived cancer of the esophagus(age 50)----can U imagine!!!---but about 10 years after that he started with megga issues and then he just went down hill--and one day I was with him and he started to cry--which made me cry and we clung to each other and to this day I can still hear him say to me--Why is this happening to me?
I miss him so much---and to this day I still ask the same thing---*why Robert*--he didnt harm a fly--he was a sweet person---warm and just a good man--U couldnt help but luve him---
Didnt mean to go on ---guess I just had to open up again!!!

Treasure your brothers Gloria\

Thanks for listening---
luve Barbara
