Barbara,

Those were "interesting" times, weren't they.

There are websites that offer translations from polish to english. Try these:

http://www.poltran.com/

http://www.translation-guide.com/free_o ... to=English

http://www.stars21.com/translator/polis ... glish.html

On the next site, you will have to reverse the translation order, (from "English to Polish", to "Polish to English"), by clicking on the drop-down arrows beside the language, and selecting the correct one from the list.

http://translation.babylon.com/English/to-Polish

Those translations probably won't be perfect, but some of them might give a reasonably close translation.

Luve,
Galahad

P. S. All my grammar school mememtos were destroyed in a house fire, when I was 12, but even if I had that stuff, I doubt that I would have the chutzpah to go back and look through it. The world was a completely different place, in those days.

sorry to hear that Galahad---was the home totaled?? everyone OK~~~

Yup--it surely was a different way then----My grammer school was about 4 blocks from where we lived---Saint James--
There were 2 gals in my class that always waited for me -at the corner- just to push me around- and lemme tell U they scared the hell outta me to---Margie Napalitano and Joan Morelli!!! I shall never forget them----Many years ago St.James had their yearly St. Paddy's Day party --so me- Lou--Robert went to it---and there they were Joan and Margie Nap.(as we called her) and we were like old dear friends---time heals wounds!!! doesnt it!!!!

I like to go back over *stuff*--kinda sentimental
I was JUNIOR BRIDESMAID in all my aunts weddings and I still have the big pictures--naturally handed down to me from my *mom*--now Deb and Lynn want them---
They already putting *dibs* on what they want--- :yikes: -nothing like being prepared!!!

Thanks for the sights---will try to figure out the lettering of what Babci posted in my book--or as the proper spelling is BABCIA!!
SEE----THANK YOU---for your thoughtfulness!!!! Got it!!!!

Yep, it went up in a hurry. The fire started on a hot, August day, when the humidity was in the low teens, and all my mother managed to do was to grab her wedding album, some photos, and the kids, and get out. My dad and I were working with the corn harvest, on a adjoining farm, and we noticed the smoke, but by the time we got there, we couldn't even get close. The heat was so intense that the nearby garage/workshop, and even the old outhouse, were spontaneously ignited. The fire department got there in time to save the barn, but everything else was a total loss, including all the shade trees, so when we rebuilt, we had to replant new trees. The fire was probably caused by a wiring problem, in the attic, but that was just the best guess at the time. At least, no one was hurt.

The pecking order issues in school were hell, sometimes, weren't they? And as you say, it's funny how "everything is okay", years later.

I hope you can get a decent translation out of those websites.

You're most welcome, as always.

Luve,
Galahad
