Calling JODI~~~~

Post by barbaranoela »

Go and visit your old homestead~~~~~U will be filled with the most beautiful feelings one could never imagine--and its amazing how kind people are when they hear U say---* I lived here*!!! I was born here and so forth!!!!

Lou--said to me before we got there--*and what are U going to do IF they open the door*
Said I to Lou---* I am going to say who I am and I am going to ask if I can step in and *remember*
Of course Lou thought I was NUTZ---but was taken aback when the lady *opened her house to me* so as I could *remember*when!!

I even pointed towards the rooms and said--that was Debbie and Lynn's room---and that door there was my son Doug's room--

It was wonderful---cus I could see the kids running around---Noreen running upstairs --and at that time Noreen and Dan had 4 kids--and added 2 more---

I am still *smiling*---

Hi Barb:

After reading your post yesterday it made me cry. There have been soooooo many times that while out for a ride that we've driven past the old farm house where I lived in Gilford. Now Gilford is just a 4 Way Stop in the middle of 'No Where'. Growing up I would be teased by others that 95% of Gilford's population was in it's cemetary! LOL It was a very small town where everybody knew everybody! On a first name bases and you always addressed your elders as Mr. or Mrs. OMG!!!!!!!!!!! My Dad would have flat layed me out on the pavement if I EVER disrespected my elders. Doing that was a MORTAL SIN and you were lucky if you were able to walk for a week if you didn't treat people with respect.

I know I'm rambling on and on but just the thought about being able to go through the home I grew up in really makes me travel down 'Memory Lane'.

Growing up in that house holds so many memories for me. The Black School (which was a 2 room school house) was right next door. Believe me I had NO REASON for being late because all I had to do was cut through the side yard and I was right there. LOL K-6th grade on one side/7th-12th on the other. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! My grandchildren would absolutely laugh hearing this but it sure was a very different life then.

As I said before............Thank You so much for sharing your return trip to see your home with us. I have no idea who lives there now but I'm thinking, 'who cares' I lived here first so I'm just going to ask. All they can tell me is NO.....................right?

Love and God Bless:
Jodi
