I just had another scintillating scotoma, (FWIW), and like the last one, it lasted slightly over 20 minutes, with no other symtoms. I looked up my previous post, (about acephalgic migraines), and apparently 36 days have passed since I had the last one. Soooooooo, I have to assume that these "events" will continue to be somewhat regular experiences for me, in the future. I'm just glad that, (so far at least), they are totally devoid of the severe headaches that usually accompanies "regular" migraines.
Interestingly, they seem to occur, (so far, at least), about midday. I don't know if that means anything, but the previous events started about 2 pm, CDT, and this one started about 3 hours later.

When I had mine about ten years ago right after I started chemo, my eye doc said that the computer screen could trigger them. I darkened my screen quite a bit after that.....
Mine were like broken pieces of plexi glass with rainbows floating around and movement in the upper right like a ceiling fan.
DISCLAIMER: I am not a doctor and don't play one on TV.
I've had two recently, but usually I will go weeks or months without any. Like you, I'm very grateful the actual headache doesn't follow.
One I had was in the shape of an oval and the edges of the oval were zigzaggy and shimmering. The other was just an area of vision that was dull yellow. Moved with my eyes same as the oval one. Seems like I have quite a variety of "illusions" with mine.
Do other people seem to have the same ones all the time??

Hmmmmmm. Mine have been occurring while I was using the computer, also. You may have something there.
Shirley,
Good question. Mine were similar, in that they start small, slightly off center, and expand outward, as sort of an oval shape. This last one was not nearly as vivid, (nor as spectacular), as the previous episode, though. This one was in black and white - no color. The previous event was in color - much flashier. This one started just a little to the right of center, and expanded in the direction of the 4 o'clock position. It never crossed my center of vision. The previous one started a little to the left of center, and expanded in the approximate direction of the 2 o'clock position, and in doing so, it crossed the center of vision with the forward border, obstructing my vision, of course, for a while. I'm guessing that like snowflakes, there are no two exactly alike, but that's just a guess.
According to what I read, most migraines begin first thing in the mornings, soon after awakening, and that's when I used to get them, when I experienced the "real" migraines, with the debilitating headaches. I was so sick then, though, that I could have easily overlooked any auras, so I don't really know whether I had auras then, or not.
