Barbara,
Sometimes blood vessels in diverticula can start to bleed, also. The doctor may be able to fix whatever it is, during the colonoscopy. You may recall that my brother had that problem a couple of years ago, and he waited so long that he was at risk of bleeding to death, before he finally went to the ER. They were able to repair the problem during a colonoscopy exam, though, and he hasn't had any problem with it since.
Best of luck with the procedure. We'll be sending our best thoughts, and waiting for your report.
Luve,
Galahad

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Of course until we find out whats going on its a *shush* thing with the kids----they have their own issues to deal with and I know that Doug would be calling us every hour on the hour for updates!!!
Kids become your parents after a certain age------but its nice to know that!!!
