Rice Chex - Strikes Me

Post by MaggieRedwings »

Morning All,

Well think I am in the boat with others in the regard that Rice Chex hit me hard the last 2 times I ate it - the latest being this morning. Instant bloating and terrible stomach pains. I was doing fine with it and somehow it has just decided that it wants to turn on me. Guess another thing I thought I could eat that is going to the dust bin.

Love, Maggie

Hi Delta,

You have the same reaction with the rice? If so, I just might try the corn since I have never had that one. Sure love Chex but not the after feeling.

Maggie,

So sorry that you had a bad reaction to Chex. I see from your list that you have many intolerances. It must be so disappointing when you have to eliminate more foods. What do you eat anyway? I just started eliminating gluten and dairy from my diet and I find that I am feeling limited. I can't imagine not being able to eat so many fruits, dairy, milk and eggs to name a few.

May I ask you how were able to find out which foods you are intolerant to? Was it all by trial and error? What types of dairy can you tolererate?

Morning No-More-Muffins (Got to say I love that handle!)

I learned by trial and error. It was hard to eliminate some due to the fact I had been a vegan for over 30 years and heavily relied on fruits, veggies and soy and many products that were vegan and included wheat gluten. I love to cook and experiement in that field so I just adapted. Dairy was easy since as a vegan I did not use it. I have since within the last 1 1/2 years gone non-vegan since I was not getting very much protein. It was a very difficult choice due to many factors and religion (where animal products were included) but soul searched and know that I am now doing the right thing and getting my protein and much healthier.

So far as dairy the only thing I tolerate is a bit of cream in my one cup of coffee per day and 1/2 container of yogurt each morning and sometimes that does not set well.

It is a real process but you are one who seems to be handling this and doing your research so you will adapt too. Good Luck in your quest.

Love, Maggie
