Got an eyeful this evening!!
Mama Bear & 3 small cubs visited my back yard bird feeder!!!
They were so adorable but they weren't there too long before something scared her off. At least I got to see them.
I really don't want to leave here!! I have to start back to Florida next Sunday. Hoping I can return by mid Sept though.
Love, Shirley

Shirley,
Hahahaha. When I read your subject line, my first thought was that you saw a flasher, or something of that sort.
A bear family is much better, of course.
I can understand the feeling. A couple of days ago, I saw a bobcat kitten in the yard, here. Unfortunately, I was walking across the yard at the time, and we both spotted each other at about the same time, so naturally, my view was fleeting, and mostly limited to the north end of a bobcat headed south. LOL.
Love,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Well, I got another quick look this morning. I kept thinking I heard something (not the bears, I don't believe) so I got up to see if maybe Mom was up. Nothing unusual except Mama & cubs just leaving after she had emptied the feeders. Two little ones were still eating seeds off the ground. I love it when the little guys decide to go up a tree. They only go maybe 3 feet up but I know they could go on up if they wanted to. I think they just enjoy doing itl.
I like to see the bobcats too, Tex. I've only seen kittens once though.
I've seen fawns this year of course. I love to watch them also.
Have a good day, everyone.
Love, Shirley

Well, we have a different opinion of the bear that showed up at our feeder the other night. We had the lid of the feeder bungied down so the squirrles couldn't get in, and the bear bent the lid to eat the seed. Then we had the plastic tub of seed out there (it's usally in the garage but didn't get put away that night), and he picked it up and carried the tub off. Needless to say, all the seed dumped on the driveway so by the time Geoff went out to pick up (the time it takes to walk downstairs) the bear was back feasting on the pile of sunflower seeds. He must have been mad that he hand nothing but an empty plastic container when he got to the back yard. Geoff threw a soda can next to him to scare him off...he didnt' care we were turning lights on and off, and yelling at him, and that geoff came out on the porch, which we didn't like. It was a different thing when a bear came to our apple tree a couple years ago and spooked quickly when it saw us, but this one destroyed the feeder, and really had no cares that we were right there.
Cubs would be cool to see though.
