Great Plains Laboratory

Post by Lucy »

Hi all,

There is some interesting information on the Great Plains Laboratory site now if anyone just has time on their hands. Ha! Very interesting research.

We have a lab here in town that is doing some pretty cutting edge stuff -- measuring the actually amount of nutrients that are able to get into the cells.
This is supposed to be much better for deciding a supplement is necessary or even working once one is taking one, than the usual blood tests for various vitamin and other nutrient levels.

I know someone who is awaiting some results from this other lab in Houston, but can't remember which ones she was going to have. I know they also have another test panel that breaks down the type of cholesterol one has to tell you whether you have the really bad form, so one can take a little more aggressive action to bring the cholesterol down. I should think it would be motivating to the patient as well. (This is beyond the breakdown one normally gets from a lipid panel at a regular lab. Aaaah, research!!!)

Will try to remember to let you know how we like that lab.
