Polly,
I did some mobile tests which included ultra sound of carotid arteries, but didn't do it for any problem, just as a screen, along with abdominal artery for aneurysm screening. Unfortunately, they didn't do ultrasound on the legs for P.A.D., so now, I have to wait until after hurricane season to see if I can just get that done at a different, older company that I know does those.

Unfortunately, the newer company that did my first mobile tests, just did the test where they put cuffs on all four extremities to check for blood flow. I don't think that particular test is deemed all that valuable anymore. Is that what people up in Maryland think about those? The name of that escapes me now at the moment.

By the way, I did well on the carotids -- one completely clear and the other, just a little bit of plaque. Of course I would've much rather had both all clear.
Blood flow according to the interpretation I got stated that it was normal.
I guess I'll just follow up with the carotid screenings unless the screening begins to show a more rapid change. By the way, when I do the ultrasounds on my legs, it will cost me about half again as much as my co-pay would, so don't think that's so bad, and it's lots more convenient.

Do you think I should be concerned that there was more plaque in that one carotid afterall, or would the mobile ultrasound machine be all that far off, most likely? I didn't know if the ultrasound was what you feared losing too much calibration. I'm just doing all this to make sure nothing big's going on since I'm getting up there in years all of a sudden.

Thanks!
Yours, Luce
