Researching Paleo diet here and other Google sites. It sounds like something i'd like to try - but i'm a little confused. While i'm in the throws of this flare, rice is a staple that doesn't cause problems so i eat a lot of it in various forms. I can also eat potatoes (no skins) without upset, and i can eat some breads. So if those things agree with me and veggies and fruits that are on the Paleo diet give me fits right now, does that mean i'm not meant for the Paleo diet when i get over this flare?

The Lord never said it would be easy - He only said it would be worth it!
No, because most of us have the same general problems while we're reacting. The intestines tend to become hypersensitive when they're inflamed by MC. Once the inflammation is controlled, and the damage heals, you will be able to handle virtually all of the paleo foods again. At least that's what happens in most cases. It would be incredibly rare to be intolerant of very many paleo foods. Your gut is just irritated by them now, due to it's hypersensitivity - you're not really intolerant of them.Carole wrote:So if those things agree with me and veggies and fruits that are on the Paleo diet give me fits right now, does that mean i'm not meant for the Paleo diet when i get over this flare?

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
