Angy,

Thanks, I appreciate the kind offer to help with the medication, but I think I've got that under control. I'll change insurance plans about mid-November, which should help a bit. I'll figure out a way to handle it, anyway.

Based on your description, it sounds as thought you may be experiencing hemiplegic migraines. Don't you agree? I think you need to find a doctor who specializes in this type of migraine.

It isn't mentioned in the list of symptoms on that site, but hemiplegic migraines can also be accompanied by fever, as noted in the list on this site:

Angy,

You need some relief. Hemiplegic migraines are so very rare, that even if you locate a neurologist who specializes in headaches, he or she may not know much about the rare types. Maybe if you do some searching, you can locate a super-specialist. Here's a fact sheet on headache clinics, and it includes a list of headache clinics in the UK:

I notice there's a headache clinic in Edinburgh. If they can't help you, maybe someone there can recommend another expert somewhere in the UK, or close by.

Thanks tex much appreciate that link too . I'm going to speak to my gp at my next appointment. I saw a nueurologist years ago and he thought I had controlled it pretty well then without the use of migraine drugs....considering I use cocodomol effervesent and nothing else. I use that pretty much too thin my blood at the time of an attack.

Angy,

Are you aware that co-codamol is contraindicated for anyone with an IBD? I'm not sure why that is, but maybe you should ask your doctor about that, just in case it's important. It might be contraindicated because of the codeine, (there's a risk of impaction, with regular use), but I'm just guessing. When you originally started taking it, you didn't have an IBD, so there was no conflict, back then.
