Marathon Success!

Post by jillian357 »

Hiya Everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that I managed to complete my marathon on Saturday despite being sick with a killer cold.
My time was a bit slower than I hoped for (4:57:27) but considering I was still sick, I was pretty happy overall.
Most importantly I finished with a smile on my face!

Stomach was great....no troubles to report in that area!

To everyone who feels discouraged because of their MC diagnosis, let me assure you that this disease will NOT stop you from reaching any goals you set for yourself. Sure, it definitely makes it more challenging, but the rewards are that much sweeter because of it!
Last year I would have never thought in a million years I would have come this far and been able to run a marathon.

We can do anything we set our minds to!

Ok.....back to icing my swollen feet!

Take care everyone.....thanks for ALL the support and encouragement!!!

Love,
Jill

Jill,

Wow! I can't believe you actually attempted that race, with a bad cold, let alone finished it, and with a better-than-average time, yet. You must be some kind of superwoman. I'm sure you're well aware that historically, less than 40% of women runners ever finish marathons, and that's without MC, and without a cold. :yourock: Congratulations, to say the least.

You're a terrific inspiration. :circle:

Love,
Tex

Congratulations! That's an AWESOME accomplishment. I agree that you are an inspiration.

Hope you're getting some well deserved R & R.

Thanks everyone, you are all just GREAT!

I meant to add to my original post that I would NOT have been able to even think about running a marathon without ALL the help and support I have received from my MC "family".
I shudder to think how different my life would be if I hadn't learned about the food intolerances that come with my MC. God knows my Gastro was of no help in that dept.

I owe you all a BIG THANK YOU! (Especially to you, dear Tex!!)

You are a real inspiration! And I guess it's all relative........running with the flu is a piece of cake as long as your MC is under control.
