Dearest Friends,
My Mom passed away a little over two weeks ago. She was painfree the last 2 weeks of her life, fortunately. I was able to be with her when she took her last breath.
In the mail Sat. I received a beautiful tribute in memory of her from "your family at the colitis home". The card informs me that the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement (Graymoor) will remember my Mom in their daily masses and that she will share in their good works throughout the world, which are dedicated to the "pursuit of the unity of all people with God and one another".
Mom would have been thrilled to be remembered in this way. She converted to Roman Catholicism as an adult and resided in a Catholic long-term care facility for the past 9 1/2 years (administered by the Sisters of Mercy). Her religion was very important to her.
Your gesture means so much to me. Thank you for thinking of me during this sad time and for honoring Mom in such a thoughtful and appropriate way.
Love,
Polly
Thanks so much.........

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
