What A GREAT Time I Had Saturday

Post by jodibelle352 »

:pulsinghearts: :bigbighug: :pulsinghearts: :bigbighug:

What an amazing surprise visit I have had.

Received a PM from Dee about 2 weeks ago. She was going to be visiting her sister who lives in Canton, Michigan!
Dee asked me;"How far to live from Frankenmuth, Michigan?" OMG!!!!
:cheerleader: "Only about 10 minutes away." And that's going the back roads. LOL

A time was set for Saturday, October 10th at 10:00a.m. I have been so excited looking forward to this visit but kept hoping that nothing would prevent this meeting I was sooooo looking forward to. :pooh:

As I pulled into the parking area of the SpringHill Suites our timing couldn't have been better planned because there Dee was with her sister getting ready to enter the down stairs lobby!

You hear so many times how meeting people from the internet can become a nightmare......................I'm here to tell you that this was NOT one of those times! It was an amazing meeting and our 2 hour visit was just to short. I met Jack her husband, her sister and a lady from the old board named; Roxy and her friend.

I could not have asked for a better 2 hours spent then laughing, joking and sharing.

Love and God Bless:
Jodi :angelpraying:

How wonderful.

I don't think I'll be able to meet up with Dee in Cleveland this trip because we'll only be there four days and because of my Mom's hip fracture. We'll be at the nursing home a lot to spell my brothers and sister.....

Dee is still working on putting it together with the help of her nephew. She's running into a couple snags here and there that needs to be worked out but hasn't given up yet. LOL

If Dee wants some inspiration on getting her cookbook published, she should read the biography of Julia Child called "My life in France", on which the recent movie "Julie and Julia" is based. Wow, what a lengthy ordeal putting together the cookbook and finding a publisher was. :banghead: But her book, "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" has become a masterpiece! And Dee's will too for those of us wanting to eat well with in the midst of all our restrictions. There are some interesting parallels between Julia and Dee. Julia's biggest challenge was in finding workable substitutes available in America for the French ingredients and equipment :chef: . She did innumerable experiments and variations learning just how things worked. And Dee has had the same challenges, finding ways to make the substitutes work well for us. Dee, we're all very grateful, and as Julia used to sign off her TV program, "Bon Appetite"! :chef2:

Rosie:

I'm sure once Dee gets home and reads your lovely post it will give her incouragement to keep going.
She's a really good person and hopefully her nephew will have some pointers for her as well.

Barbara, we had a great meeting. I had a great time and haven't quit talking about it to my David since yesterday. LOL
I feel so blessed having been able to meet her and Jack.
It would be quite the experience if something could be arranged for everyone to meet sometime. However, we have several who live in a different country or just don't have the finances to fly.
Maybe someday things will be different for everybody so that a reunion of PP could happen.

Yes, Jack & I had a fabulous, much needed, weekend getaway!
Jodi is the cutest & just a beautiful person inside & out.
She was kind enough to make & bring a knitted pair of slippers to keep my tootsies warm, since it seems winter is on the way.
Roxanne is the best & looks great, & is still working hard at making & selling her bracelets to help her daughter out.
She & a friend set up a table in the dining area of our hotel to work on 19 orders that my sister Carla got for her from her workplace. Just amazing and beautiful jewelry.
Just wish that I could have spent more time with Jodi & Roxanne. Definitely will the next trip to Frankenmuth. Made my heart happy to spend time with the both of them. :pulsinghearts:
Jodi left with a little "bling" to wear & it will remind her of me when she wears it.
Hope that's a good thing!!
Love

Frankenmuth kept ringing a bell in my head. I finally figured out why..

It was where the Borzoi National Show was held. http://www.borzoiclubofamerica.org/2009/

Sorry I won't get to meet you this time, Dee.

Joan,
You don't have to apologize.
You have a much bigger priority to attend to.
Hope your Mother is doing well & on the mend.

Dee:
I've showed my 'bling' to several friends and hopefully they will be contacting Roxy to help with her cause.
They really loved mine and I'm hoping at the first of the month I can afford to add a few more beads to mine. YEAH!
Roxy gave me her card and website so I'm hoping to do my part for the cause.

It always makes me happy to hear that part of our family was able to meet and spend a little time together. It truly is special.
