Excellent, Joan! My "hero" (Dr. Cannell) hits the major points about vitamin D. Can you imagine how many less illnesses there would be if everyone took 5000 IUs of vitamin D3 per day?? Boggles the mind!

Love,

Polly

OOPS, I only take 2000 IUs.

Polly, did you see the post of our newest member from Iowa about her little girl? I don't think she's been back since she posted a couple of days ago, unfortunately.

Hello everyone.

The doctor that is treating me for hormones & thyroid issues has me taking 2 5k IU capsules a day. My vitamin D labs were 37 in June and 45 in September. If the November values are above 50, maybe I'll get to drop to one capsule.

Take care.

Hi Brenda,

When did you start taking them - before or after the June test?

The world is full of ignorant people, self-appointed experts, and underachievers, and the internet makes it very easy for them to display their childish stupidity for all the world to see.

Brenda,

OK, from 37 to 45, (8 units), in 3 months. It would be great if you would let us know the result on the next test, if you don't mind. Maybe we can get some idea of how our blood levels respond to that supplementation rate.

Thanks,
Tex

Hi Angy,

Thanks. Their recommendations for daily vitamin D intake are way to low, unfortunately. They're still using the old numbers.
