My Vit. D

Post by JLH »

Some time ago there was confusion on my Vitamin D test results. Indeed, the person from the doctor's office gave me the new score (I didn't even know she retested) not the original. The original in Sept. 2008 was 14.2. Doc prescribed the 50,000 unit pill which was in soy. That was a no go.

The Jan. 2009 result was 43.6. I was taking 2000 units which I have recently doubled.

Good job Joan - just a bit more to get it over 50.

It appears that you're getting there.

In case you ever need some 50,000 IU doses, these are the ones that I keep on hand, (in case of the flu). They're free of all allergens.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hi Joan,
I was wondering why you were tested and if it was your GP who tested you?
Hope you are doing okay.
thanks, Connie

I asked to be tested probably from info on the PP site as well as on the web.

Do a PP search, not the Google one, for Vitamin D. Also, visit the Vitamin D Council web site. http://www.vitamindcouncil.org/

How are you doing now? Have you been to a doctor?

Hi Sweet Joan

Post by connie »

Thanks for the information, I will take a look at the site.

I went to see my internist on Monday morning as I was having lower right back pain. I was concerned about kidney infection as the pain felt kind of like when I had a kidney infection before. I had tests for both kidney infection and blood in my urine but there was none. I have been so ill that I have been laying down and in the recliner alot so I guess it is probably a muscle. I normally don't sit down when I'm at home. (I have had lower right sided pain pretty consistantly and I am sure that is the CC.)

I told my internist about my experience with the herbalist. She said there is no blood test for colon cancer and that in 30 years of practice she had only seen one case of colon cancer that was missed by colonoscopy. She was outraged that he had not followed through to get me hooked up with the next health care provider. The place the herbalist referred me to called on Monday and said they do not diagnose colon cancer and I would need to see a GI. Feeling like an idiot on that experience!!!!!!

Also for your further information, I told my internist about the dermitologist putting me on iron pills to try and bring my iron level to 75. My internist thinks my iron level is fine and maybe contributes a little but she thinks it's the stress of the CC that is causing my hair to shed. (not good news to me)

My CDC was normal and just done two weeks ago. So my white blood count is not elevated. I feel totally depleted both physically and emotionally. I could understand if I was having D but I'm not and that has not been my primary symptom since I was first treated in April. My gut swells and hurts and I have some upper symptoms. Can this stuff wipe you out completely??
Hope you are feeling well.

Good about the doctor visit.

Yes, probably stress is getting my hair as well.

MC does cause fatigue and depression. I went to urgent care about terrible fatigue (among other things) and was told there could be 3,500 reasons for it. I guess I hadn't yet read on this site that MC causes fatigue.

Hope you feel better soon.
