Swartzie missing

Post by Liz »

Our darling black cat Swartzie went missing last Thursday. Robert took them to be microchipped at the sports ground a few streets away. We only had one good cat carrier so we put Swartzie in an old picnic basket. Robert got her out of the car & turned to get Charli out & Swartzie forced her way out & took off. She must have been pretty upset because she hates the car.

She ran into a house next door & the owner tried to flush her out from under a monsterio & she has not been seen since. We have posters up everywher & did letterbox drops to no avail. We went down to the RSPCA on Wednesday & there was a cat that looked very like her except for her mismatched eyes. It was also a male but when i first saw her my heart skipped a beat. We tried the animal shelter as well but still no luck. We are just hoping now that she will find her wat home if she is still Ok.

How awful, Liz. You get so attached to pets, and you realize just how much when something like this happens. Since it was only a few streets away, hopefully he will find his way home soon. It's awful not knowing what has happened....

I sure hope so, Liz.

I just found out we have a company in the US called Find Toto www.findtoto.com , maybe there is something like that in your part of the world.

I'm so sorry that Swartzie has been missing. I'm :xfingers: that she'll return home. Someone I know found their cat under their porch, hiding after she'd disappeared.

Hi Liz,

I'm sorry to hear that happened. It's so frustrating when things like that happen, when we least expect it. Hopefully she'll sneak back home, after she settles down a bit.

Love,

So sorry to hear about your missing cat. Many years ago, one of my cats disappeared from my home. In addition to contacting the SPCA and animal control in Montgomery Couty, MD USA where I lived, I put flyers in mailboxes in my neighborhood. When that was ineffective, I took the flyers to local businesses who posted them for me. Three weeks later, a customer told one of the the business owners a cat fitting my cat's description was living in a wooded area behind this person's house. I got in my car, drove over and retrieved my cat, a few pounds lighter, but OK. He lived many more years with me and died of old age. If you have any businesses or shopping centers near you, this information might help. If not, suggest you e-mail anyone you think might help find your cat. Good Luck. Sheila

Thanks people. I have done all of those things including letterbox drops & posters at the local shops. Just about everyone that I know in my town have told their neighbours but not a word.

Charli is still fretting for her mum. I think I will go back down to the RSPCA again. They reckoned that this cat who was a dead ringer for Swartzie was a male but I want to see for myself. They texted me today asking if she had been found which i thought was good of them I have called several times to see if she has been brought in.

Love

Liz

When I was a kid, we took our cat in the car to take him to our friend's farm because we got a dog. He slipped out of the car window when we were part way there. He came home a week later covered with burrs but he found his way home from somewhere he'd never been.

Liz, have you thought about putting Charli in his carrier and taking him to where Swartzie ran away, or other likely places? Perhaps hearing his cries, or smelling him might attract Swartzie if she were nearby.
