mass for my friend--Barbara Smith

Post by barbaranoela »

As we arrived at St. Agnes Church -the winds seemed to pick up and a few drizzles of rain began to fall---
I thought to my self---are the skies crying for BS--as I always called her-
We started walking up the stairs to the church and as I lifted my head--there standing at the top of the stairs---smiling--crying-arms opened was Peggy---her daughter--

I knew she was waiting for me--we just grabbed each other and cried our eyes out---said to me by Peggy---*Barb I was hoping U would see the obit~~~~and I said to Peg---*U know I wouldnt let go of my dear BS--without letting her know that I WAS HERE!!!

BS was cremated-and her urn--was directly at the bottom of the altar--
I found out that BS had been very ill the last 2 years--never saying anything to me of her issues--but as Peggy said---*U know what mom was like* --*nobody should worry about her~~

Yes---this is what my Barbara was like---always a smile--
Many of the old gang--that gathered at the American Legion Post-were there--
The MASS was beautiful --the priest was so moving in how he presented his talk and then it was time for Communion--as I approached the priest--I just rested my hand on BS's Urn to whisper *I luve U BS* and I will see U one day~~~
BS will be laid to rest with Joe ---

It has been a most sad day---
Sometimes we think that the ones we so luve *couldnt die*
Yet we know that they watch over us~~~

I'm so very sorry, Barbara.

We had a funeral on Thursday. Our good friend's dear aunt died of stage four lung cancer. I guess that's the stage a lot of lung cancers are diagnosed. :-(

I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend. I'm glad you were there to comfort her daughter. The mass sounds like it was a wonderful tribute to a great lady.
