The FDA is expected to announce on Tuesday that it has modified its
> plan to conduct an experimental study about gluten-free labeling of

You know, if the FDA recognizes gluten intolerance as a separate issue from celiac disease, one would think that eventually, most mainstream doctors may be forced to recognize it, also. Who would have thought that the FDA would actually take the lead in something like that? Good for them.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
I am guessing it's because the amount of gluten free food sold doesn't equate to the number of diagnosed celiacs. The food industry clearly recognizes (embraces is more like it) all of the people with gluten sensitivity. I forsee many companies will jump on the GF bandwagon.
The FDA has really dragged its heels on GF labeling. They are only in a hurry when it comes to approving drugs because of pharmaceutical industry pressure.
