UPDATE on KAIT

Post by barbaranoela »

Just spoke to LYNN-----

Kaitlyn slept sitting up with a pot and puked all night---

the RENOWNED HARTER called --and said to Lynn---*if she gets WORSE???(how much worse does he mean) get into the hospital---

And this is LYNN---god luve her she has a mouth when it needs to be heard --
Said to Harter----!!and what are U going to do if I get her in--tis the Jewish holidays and I know U wont be coming in---
Harter to Lynn---*dont worry we shall have a neuro ready to PRESSURE test her shunt????

Am I stupid or what----he doesnt feel it necessary to get her in NOW???
Knowing what Lynn has been thru--with Kait--I trust her judgement cus she is well in the KNOW of this issue~~~

Yet I still dont understand why Lynn doesnt bring Kait in NOW???

So I am now driving L. crazy with my MOUTH--with the *why wait* quiz!!! and trying NOT to stress out~~~

Thanks for all ears----

Barbara,

Obviously, the correct thing for Dr. Harter to have said, would have been to "bring her in now, so that we can check the shunt". Personally, I have a rather low opinion of a doctor who would let a religious holiday prevent him from taking care of one of his patients in need of urgent care. But even if he is "too religious to take care of his patients", the least he could do, would be to connect Lynn with a doctor who could handle it, now - not after Kait gets worse. One thing is for sure, ER personnel are not likely to have the foggiest idea about how to deal with problems caused by a faulty shunt, that's supposed to be regulating fluid pressures in the brain.

The best that they would be able to do, would be to try to persuade a neuro doc on call, to come in and handle it, which Dr. Harter should have done in the first place, except that Dr. Harter could have briefed the neuro on call, regarding the details of her case, and saved a lot of time.

I'm not sure if a religious holiday is a better excuse for putting a patient off, than playing golf, or going fishing. If I were in his shoes, I don't believe I could do that.

100%-----Lynn had issues with the ER personnel many times-----and there were times when she HAD to instruct them---
I tell ya Galahad, Lynn could do the testing herself---and she goes by what Kait tells her also---referring to the intensity of pain -

Lynn is hoping that Kait will not have to go thru more surgery---
Kait needs that *miracle* --she has been thru alot but still keeps her smile--

Called Oma again--left a big message--I would have thought Oma would have let me know that she WAS going away???

I am sure that Mike would give a call if anything was wrong--but who am I to say~~~~
If she calls me I shall let U know--
Lou fiddled with the puter again--and it appears certain features are working---very SLOW loading but I can deal with that!!

Dr. Harter and Hanukkah

Post by JLH »

From Wikipedia: "While Hanukkah traditionally speaking is a relatively minor Jewish holiday, as indicated by the lack of religious restrictions on work other than a few minutes after lighting the candles, in North America, Hanukkah has taken a place equal to Passover as a symbol of Jewish identity. Both the Israeli and North American versions of Hanukkah emphasize resistance, focusing on some combination of national liberation and religious freedom as the defining meaning of the holiday."

When Moses' sister, Miriam, was ill Moses offered the shortest prayer in the Bible:
"Eil na rafa na la." "Please, God, please heal her."
One would hope that the doctor could give God a helping hand.

Lynn and Kait prove there is still strength, nobility and love in this world. Ant

I HATE Dr. Harter. He has no heart.

I am always praying for Kait and hope she will not get any worse but still get her to the E.R.

Love, Maggie

I am praying for Kait too. I am angry that this young woman's suffering is so casually disregarded.
I hope there is a change for the better soon.
